The management of Museum of West African Arts (MOWAA) located in Benin City, Edo State, has clarified that the place is a cultural centre for education and research, and not a museum for holding artefacts and other art works. Philip Ihenacho, MOWAA’s executive director made the clarifications during a press conference ahead of a media tour of the MOWAA Institute and Campus, in the state capital.

As part of giving back to the community, the Orhionmwon Student Union (OSU) has donated school bags and exercise books to pupils of Esigie Demonstration Primary School, in Abudu, Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State. The student body led by its president, Comr Etinosa Israel, presented the learning materials on behalf of the union executives to the pupils, on Monday, to the delight of the teaching staff.

The Enogie (Duke) of Ogan dukedom, His Royal Highness (HRH) George Igbinovia, has declared support for the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo and his running mate in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State, scheduled for September 21. Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has mourned the passing of a former Edo State Commissioner for Health, Professor Mrs. Aihanuwa Eregie. Late Prof. Mrs. Eregie served as commissioner under the administration of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
