I will never forget the first time I heard OneRepublic’s hit song “Counting Stars.” I was 15 years old. My taste in music was limited, to say the least. I rarely listened to anything “mainstream,” and I was more than a little inclined to judge my peers who filled their ears with godless pop music. When “Counting Stars” came on at a birthday party, I couldn’t help liking the catchy tune. It was a good song, and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Christians should be known for embodying the virtues of curiosity and epistemic humility. "Should a Christian have an open mind?" When a student raised that question in class, I did not know how to answer at first-I felt caught between two competing convictions. On one hand, "open-mindedness" seems to run contrary to the Christian doctrine of the narrow road. Shouldn't Christians be characterized by our unchanging, unshakeable faith?

AbstractGene signatures derived from transcriptomic-causal networks offer potential for tailoring clinical care in cancer treatment by identifying predictive and prognostic biomarkers. This study aimed to uncover such signatures in metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) patients to aid treatment decisions. We constructed transcriptomic-causal networks and integrated gene interconnectivity into overall survival (OS) analysis to control for confounding genes.
