Central Texas is celebrating the groundbreaking of a new animal shelter. Friday's milestone marks the start of a long-awaited expansion of the Central Texas SPCA. The facility currently consists of three mobile home buildings that are decades old and have seen better days. "These are 35-year-old donated trailers that are only being held together with duct tape and love," said Heather Gandy, President of the Central Texas SPCA.

Pitt snuck into the Bob Bullock Museum’s IMAX Theatre as fans were waiting for the film to start Wednesday night. Pitt talked about the film and his love for Austin and BBQ. The star of F1 singled out SLAB BBQ as the restaurant recommended to him by his niece who lives in Austin. The high-octane, action-packed feature film stars Brad Pitt and is directed by Joseph Kosinski.
