The study, conducted by business energy experts Utility Bidder, analysed factors such as GDP, business survival rates, transport links, internet speeds and office efficiency ratings to reveal the best and worst regions for UK entrepreneurs to start their businesses. Walsall came in as the second lowest rated place in England for business owners, with a score of 2.23 out of 10, based on analysis of official data.

Watling Real Estate has been instructed by Joph Young and Conrad Beighton of Leonard Curtis, joint administrators of Adam Carpets Ltd, to market the freehold industrial site jointly with Edwards Property Consultants. Adam Carpets fell into administration in March as a result of adverse trading conditions within the retail sector, rising gas and electricity prices, and the increase in National Insurance contributions.
