Aviation is one of the fasted-growing sources of greenhouse gas emissions. During the coronavirus pandemic, people could not fly and there was a temporary reduction in the gas emissions, which rebounded quickly after Covid to pre-pandemic level. The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) forecasted that by 2025 international aviation emissions could triple compared to 2015.
