    This article originally appeared in the Nutrition Business Journal's Awards Issue. Over the years, the names of the individual NBJ awards have shifted. A dozen years ago we had a “Stock Performance” award. For a single year, 2014, we ran a “Triple Bottom Line” award, and a few years saw an “Investment in the Future” award. “Management Achievement” has been a long-lasting award, as has “Efforts on Behalf of the Industry.”But this isn’t a "What’s in a name?" moment.

    Vitafoods Europe made its appearance May 14-16 in Geneva, Switzerland, the show’s 26th appearance there. Next year, iits in Barcelona, Spain. This was, I believe, NBJ’s second data presentation at the event, but not likely the last, as the presentation, “Inconsistent Growth: The Global Dietary Supplement Market by the Numbers,” was among the top attended sessions of the show. In it I shared numbers from both NBJ’s recent Global Supplement Business Report and the new Supplement Business Report.

How could a $63.63 billion dietary supplement industry (preliminary numbers published recently in New Hope Network’s State of Natural Report) house a $69.86 billion SNWM industry?
