    State officials, while pulling the funding for a Kingston homeless shelter, are not responding to questions about their reasons for closing it. This shelter opened in late February 2024 in a collaboration with the state, University of Rhode Island and the Westerly Area Rest Meals (WARM) Inc. that provides shelter and meals to the homeless throughout southern Rhode Island, including the Welcome House on North Road.
