The frontier between work and retirement is changing. The stereotypical definition of retirement as an abrupt and complete withdrawal from paid labor is no longer adequate to define the career paths of many employees returning to the workforce after their retirement (Henkens & van Solinge, 2021). Employment engagement of older adults (50+) who define themselves as retirees is called bridge employment (Wang et al., 2008).
