After being shuttered for over two years, Windsor restaurant Taystee Grill and Seafood is back in business along Wyandotte Street East. “Me and my wife and my kids, we are so happy. We’ve been struggling the past two years just to open,” owner Haissam Chouman told CTV News. In October 2022, the restaurant caught fire after being broken into. At the time, he told CTV News he wasn’t frustrated enough by break-in attempts to give up on the area. “Everybody has to be positive, you know,” Chouman said.

A local artist has given comedian Jay Leno with a personal sculpture before his show at The Colosseum. Peter Solly built a sculpture of Leno out of used auto parts over a year ago. With the help of Caesars Windsor, he was able to personally deliver it to the legendary comedian. “He loved it. He couldn’t believe it,” Solly told CTV News. “When he came out, he matched the sculpture. It was awesome.

It’s no secret Windsor’s social services are stretched thin, especially for helping people who are experiencing homelessness. A recent experience has driven city councillor Renaldo Agostino to push for limiting access to local services. He says he witnessed a theft in progress and learned that a person was wanted for a crime elsewhere but was not taken into custody. “The City of Windsor is no refuge for anyone who has warrants for their arrest,” Agostino tells CTV News.

They turned a passion into a big-league business with their custom-made bats, now being swung by Major League Baseball players. They were at a recent Philadelphia Phillies game and watched Nick Castellanos hit a homerun for the hometown team“We were jumping out of our seats,” Lamantia told CTV News.
