The Big News out of Big D came early Wednesday morning. Jerry Jones had been telling reporters for weeks that the Dallas Cowboys were working on “two pretty substantive trades” that could happen at some point either before or after the draft. The draft came and went without the Cowboys doing anything other than draft players.

Dallas Goedert will be back with the Eagles in 2025. After months of trying to either trade (the least desirable option) or get the tight end to agree to a restructured contract (the desired option), the team and Goedert have come to an agreement. The news was first reported by the Inquirer’s Jeff McLane, who said Wednesday morning that the sides were in the process of finalizing a reworked contract. A league source confirmed the news.

It was magical and mystical and fantastical. Saquon Barkley signed with the Eagles as a free agent and lived the dream in his first season in Philadelphia, compiling more than 2,000 rushing yards while carrying the team to its second Super Bowl title. Counting the Eagles’ four-game playoff run that ended with a rout of the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans, Barkley compiled a league record 2,504 yards rushing and scored a total of 18 touchdowns. So what’s he going to do for an encore in 2025?
