In a battle between two of the top North Jersey boys volleyball teams, it was Livingston who came out on top. Livingston took down top-seeded Elizabeth in the North Jersey, Group 4 final, 2-1, at the Dunn Center in Elizabeth. For the Lancers, this is its first sectional title since 2013. “It’s great,” said Duncan Sturt, who led Livingston with 30 assists in the win over Elizabeth. ”Coach [Dan Kim] always said we can be one of two Livingston teams to ever win a [sectional title].

Even a real bear couldn’t stop another miracle from Johnson. Johnson rallied with a four-run bottom of the sixth inning to take a 5-4 victory against Delran in the Central Jersey, Group 2 final in Clark. It was a rematch from last season’s sectional final, where Johnson walked it off against Delran, 4-3, for its first title since 2016.

Beautiful beaches, miles of highways and a Wawa on every corner. Sounds like it could be New Jersey — but you’re more likely to see all those Wawas in Florida now that new data show the Sunshine State has surpassed both New Jersey and Pennsylvania as the Wawa capital of the world. There were 304 Wawas in Florida as of May 6, surpassing New Jersey’s 293 locations, according to data aggregator ScrapeHero. More than a quarter of all Wawas are in Florida now.

What a spring it was in N.J. track and field. The 2025 outdoor campaign came to an end on Wednesday in Pennsauken at the 56th running of the NJSIAA Meet of Champions, but the previous week’s Group Championships was when the Garden State’s top squads showed out one last time in a team meet setting. We haven’t updated our Top 20s since the conclusion of the sectional championships on May 18, but we’re doing so one last time with the final two weeks of the postseason now in the rearview.
