Jun 3, 2024If you didn’t already realize it, one-size-fits-all benefits packages really are (finally) fading into obsolescence. Employees are demanding more personalization in their benefit options, and In their place, personalized benefits are becoming the de-facto choice of today’s workforce. But, knowing this, and making the change are often two different things, and meeting this call for more personalized benefits is not always a simple as it sounds.

There’s something missing in the benefits strategy at most companies. As someone with more than 30 years’ experience advising organizations on their benefits, I know first-hand how important it is to have a comprehensive benefits strategy that aligns with the needs of both a company and its employees. By Bob GaydosThis column is updated from three years ago because it’s election time again and, well, denial is the first, big obstacle. But also, remember Antony and Cleopatra, Ozzie and Harriet, Napoleon and Josephine, Abbott and Costello, Batman and Robin, Butch and Sundance, Sonny and Cher, Charles and Diana, Franklin and Eleanor, Heckle and Jeckle, Jekyll and Hyde, Bonnie and Clyde    That seems an appropriate place to stop to consider this year’s dynamic duo: Donald and Nikki.

By Bob Gaydos  A friend of mine was talking recently about making  New Year’s resolutions and how it can be a futile or even delusional exercise (my words, probably misrembering his) since we rarely live up to them. Bob Gaydos: The World in 500 Words or Less, More or Less is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
