The day after the Phillies became the first MLB team to reach 60 victories, they cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers and a sweep of a three-game series between the top two teams in the National League. Every night the Phillies seem to clear another hurdle. After checking in as the first MLB team to reach 60 victories on Wednesday, they won again Thursday, defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 to sweep the three-game series. From the day Xavier Lozowicki was born, there were huge expectations. He laughs about it each time he explains his nickname. “My aunt told everybody that with the initials XL, he better be a big boy,” Lozowicki recalled. “It stuck with me. And I love it.”The 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman is just beginning to learn what big really means. The kid who grew up playing CYO football in Ridley and spent three years at Cardinal O’Hara is competing for a starting job with Power 5 football school Cincinnati.
