    The Vidalia Lady Indians Track team overcame a cool, rainy day to capture the Class A Division 1 State Championship in Rome on Saturday. The Lady Indians scored 70 points in the two-day event, outdistancing Model by 7 points (63) and 3rd place Bremen by 13 points (57) to claim their second State Championship in the last 7-years.

    The Vidalia High School Baseball Team advanced to the GHSA State Final with a sweep of Toombs County on Wednesday. The Indians will travel to Chickamauga, Georgia, Tuesday, May 13 to play Gordon Lee and a chance to play for the State Championship. Game 1 Game 1 was a pitchers duel as Jackson Berry took the mound for Vidalia. Toombs County was able to strike first in the bottom of the second inning after a walk and three singles gave them a 2-0 lead.

    The Vidalia Indians Baseball Team advanced to the Elite 8 Thursday with a Sweep of Social Circle. In game 1,  the Indians got on the board in the top of the second inning after Eion Ryals grounded into a fielder’s choice, and Cayden Nance grounded out, each scoring one run. Vidalia added one run in the third. Ryan Brantley hit a sacrifice fly, making the score 3-0.

    The Toombs County High School Track & Field team continued to shine as they took 26 athletes to the GHSA Sectional A Meet held at Bleckley County High School and came away with multiple state qualifiers. Competing against the best in the state, the Track Dawgs rose to the occasion and punched their ticket to the GHSA State Championships in Rome, Georgia, on May 9–10. “I couldn’t be prouder of their efforts this season,” said the coaching staff.

    RTCA Crusaders on the Podium! Congratulations to RTCA and their boys and girls track teams. The Crusaders had two state champions and several other good showings at the GIAA State Meet.
