The Montgomery County Eagles football team is working hard, preparing for the upcoming 2025 season with practices, 7 on 7 camps, OTA's. “We are just working hard in the weight room building that team chemistry in there, getting those 9th graders transferred over to how we work in high school. But it's been going well. We've been slow on the field and pretty much in the weight room. Then we get on the field for about two hours trying to find a new quarterback.

The Vidalia High School Indians football team is working hard this summer, preparing for the 2025 season. Head Coach Rodney Garvin, “We're excited, football is in the air and, you know, it never really ends around here. We finished spring and had a really good spring, with a lot of excitement coming into the summer. We've been working out four days a week here in the month of June, and we've had good attendance, and the kids' attitudes have just been outstanding.

The Wheeler County Bulldogs football team is having a busy month in June. The Bulldogs have been taking part in summer workouts, 7 on 7 camps. “In June you have got a bunch of sports going on, so you are just trying to get them stronger, and be able to share with your athletes. We've had good numbers, probably the best numbers we've had in the five years we've been here in June. I have got enough now that we're having to split them up because they won't all fit in the weight room at one time.

The Toombs County Bulldogs baseball team is staying busy this summer with workouts and practices. The Bulldogs hope to build off last year's region championship. “We like to keep the ball rolling throughout the summer. We got guys playing multiple sports, two to three sports. It’s just getting their schedule and seeing how we can do it. I feel they get better during the summer. We look at June a lot like August and September. We bring kids in and it’s more about individual work hours.

The Vidalia Recreation Department baseball and softball teams have done a great job competing at the GRP district tournaments where all eight teams have qualified for the state tournaments by the Recreation Department. (14U Boys District Champions) VRD Director Coach Scott Strickland said: “All eight teams did very well, all eight of our teams have qualified for state. I don't remember many summers that we've done that, but this is one of the top ones.
