FARGO – Red River Valley SWAT was called out to help Fargo Police after a man barricaded himself in an apartment with two juveniles. It happened in the 2600 block of 14th St. S. at around 10 p.m. Tuesday night. Police say the man made threats against an adult female who got out of the apartment safely. Santiago Resendez Jr., 33, was arrested about two-and-a-half hours later. He’s being held on a terrorizing charge.

MOORHEAD – Moorhead firefighters responded to two fire calls Friday night. The first one broke out just before 7:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of 5th St. S. Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the back of a home, with flames spreading up the siding and soffit. They managed to quickly put the fire out before it spread to the attic. Everyone got out safely. Fire damage was limited to the home’s exterior, but there was some smoke and water damage inside.

FARGO – Fire caused significant damage to an apartment in Fargo Monday night, but no one was hurt. Crews were called to 2551 Villa Drive S. just before 10 p.m. They discovered a fire in the kitchen of one of the apartment units and put it out. Those living in that apartment were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

SAUK CENTRE, MN — A truck driver was killed in a semi crash in Central Minnesota Tuesday night. It happened on I-94 near Sauk Centre just after 11:30pm. The State Patrol says road conditions were dry when the semi left the road, hit the ditch and landed on its side. David Elders, 60, from Joliet, Illinois died in the crash. A passenger suffered non life-threatening injuries.

WILKIN COUNTY, MN – A Moorhead woman was hurt in a crash on I-94 near Rothsay on Thanksgiving morning. Ronda Peterson, 56, was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The State Patrol says Peterson lost control of her pickup on an icy stretch of pavement, left the road, and hit some trees.
