Since her spontaneous move to New York at 17, Kinlaw’s practice of music, movement, and choreography has been propelled by full-throttle impulse, from her past works at MoMA PS1 and Pioneer Works to later collaborations with SOPHIE and Caroline Polachek.

Osheaga Festival is headed back to Montréal this August, and they’ve announced their 2025 lineup today. The Killers, Tyler, The Creator, and Olivia Rodrigo will headline Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively. Some other bold-font artists on the Osheaga poster this year include Glass Animals, Doechii, Dominic Fike, Lucy Dacus, Gracie Abrams, the Chainsmokers, Shaboozey, Cage The Elephant, Jamie XX, Royel Otis, and The Beaches.

A$AP Rocky has been found not guilty of felony assault charges, ending a three-week trial accusing the rapper of firing a gun at his former friend, A$AP Relli. The Los Angeles jury declared him not guilty on two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. The incident transpired back in 2021 when A$AP Relli — real name Terell Ephron — accused A$AP Rocky — real name Rakim Mayers — of shooting him outside of the W Hotel in Hollywood.

Rick Buckler, drummer for the great British mod/punk trio the Jam, has died. Chronicle reports that Buckler passed away after a short illness. Earlier this month, he cancelled a few spoken-word events because of health concerns. In a statement, Buckler’s former bandmate Paul Weller says, “I’m shocked and saddened by Rick’s passing. I’m thinking back to us all rehearsing in my bedroom in Stanley Road, Woking. To all the pubs and clubs we played at as kids, to eventually making a record.

It’s still hard to believe this happened, but it did: Pharrell Williams made an animated Lego documentary about his life, and it came out in theaters and everything. Pharrell’s Piece By Piece wasn’t exactly a blockbuster, and his other upcoming biopic has been shelved, but it’s still a movie that exists. Now Timbaland, Virginia Beach’s other great rap and R&B production visionary, is also getting into the animation game.

Dog Days Fest! is an annual DIY-centric rock ‘n’ roll throwdown in Savannah, Georgia, and it’s about to return for its third installment. This time around, Dog Days adds an extra day, and it’ll come to venues around Savannah June 6 and June 13-15. Mannequin Pussy, Geese, Angel Du$t, and Boy Harsher will serve as headliners. I’ve only seen two of those four bands, but I can assure you that those two bands both absolutely rip live.
