There is no doubt about it, we definitely get good barrels here in Los Angeles. The only problem is, it’s a very rare occurrence. But when the swell and winds come together, it’s pretty magical. Last week, after a series of storms that swell came to be and I was able to capture 16 minutes of raw barrel-riding footage right here at home. And man, did the talent come out to play. Surfers like Yadin Nicol and Alex Gray were on hand to take advantage of the primo conditions.

This was a week that doesn’t come along very often. We had a seldom-seen day of great barrels and tons of talent in Los Angeles. For this mission I headed to the beach to film some insane waves. It was raining steadily all day but I managed to find a little shelter to keep me and my equipment dry. I doubt we’ll see another day as good as this for a while. And, like I said, the talent showed up, big time. Yadin Nicol and Alex Gray were in the lineup, charging hard.
