Sports Michigan volleyball defeated Michigan State in three consecutive sets Friday night in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Michigan took the first set 25-20. The set included several lead changes but ultimately the Wolverines prevailed. Michigan took an 18-17 lead on a kill by Allison Jacobs and never looked back, outscoring MSU 7-3 after that. During the set, Jacobs led Michigan with five kills while Serena Nyambio had four.

In 120 minutes, Taylor Swift molds together a raw, unedited marathon of music. The Taylor Swift Phenomenon has reached new heights. She is at the pinnacle of stardom, a ceiling that seems to keep rising with each passing year. Her run of form has been a spectacle since she abandoned Big Machine in 2018 to re-record each album in pursuit of owning the original masters to her songs. That has culminated in a proper release cycle of eight albums since Lover in 2019.

Oddly enough, Apple Sports is unlike any other sports app I’ve ever used. The interface is cleaner than others, being that it’s Apple, and there are no ads, which is always welcome. But it can only be used for real-time scores. There’s no commentary. There’s also no NFL, MLB, UFC, MMA, NASCAR, or Formula 1. It’s remarkably unfinished, too. As mentioned, there is no commentary available, apart from the betting odds available. All fans can see are basic stat sheets that anyone can grab from ESPN or CBS.

The second one is better than the firstHome Alone is a Christmas classic. First released in 1990, the Macaulay Culkin-starring film tells the story of Kevin, whose family is spending the holidays in Paris. During the frantic rush to the airport in the morning, Kevin accidentally gets left behind. The movie trudges on as Kevin’s mom contacts local authorities and tries to will her way back home, though many flights are delayed or canceled due to an impending snowstorm.

Can anything replace Twitter? After nearly a year of an invite-only closed beta, Bluesky opened itself up to the world this month. In October, I wrote about Bluesky and how it became my favorite social media app, fully replacing Twitter, although the app is not equipped to do that yet. You can’t yet DM folks on Bluesky yet and there are no hashtags. After two days of being open to everyone, the service saw more than one million new signups.
