The latest Board meeting was no exception, as several residents were vocal about issues they had with the Board. Village Historian John Sipos spoke first, and whether it was intentional or not, his comments were somewhat of a preemptive strike in defense of the Board.

SILVER CREEK — Mayor Jeff Hornburg is now without his “go-to guy.” Marv Cummings has resigned from his duties as Deputy Mayor and Trustee of the Village of Silver Creek, effective immediately. “I have truly enjoyed my time serving the residents of this fine village, and additionally enjoyed working with Mayor Hornburg and the rest of the Board,” Cummings said in his letter of resignation.

By BRADEN [email protected] — A recent Silver Creek Board of Education meeting was held off-site at the Seneca Nation of Indians Early Childhood Learning Center library. The switch in location was made to allow for the Board of Education and district administration to appreciate Native American heritage through a series of celebrations preceding the meeting. Once the meeting began, the district recognized one of its leaders in Native American education within the district.
