ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Lobo men’s golf team has been selected for an NCAA regional tournament. New Mexico will compete in the Tallahassee regional as a No. 8 seed. The selection marks the 6th consecutive for UNM and the 32nd since the current format was adopted in 1989. New Mexico seeks a third consecutive appearance in the national championships.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – On Friday, UNM dual sport athlete Cam Watts broke a program record with a time of 10.08 seconds in the 100m dash. He was named Mountain West athlete of the week for his efforts, but it’s his other sport that he’s excited about. Watts was not selected in the 2025 NFL draft, but he still has a shot to get in the league. He has offers to participate in rookie minicamps with both the Kansas City Chiefs and the New Orleans Saints.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – While they didn’t hear their names called during the NFL draft, two players who played their high school ball in New Mexico found their way on to NFL rosters. Former Cleveland Storm standout Tre Watson is joining the Kansas City Chiefs and La Cueva’s Connor O’Toole is going to the Seattle Seahawks. Watson originally began his collegiate career at Fresno State before transferring to Texas A&M for his senior year.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico United played its first-ever match in the USL Jägermeister Cup on Saturday. Against USL League One foe Union Omaha, the black and yellow came out with a 2-0 victory. United had one of its most aggressive attacking nights of the season. The club finished the match with a season high in expected goals (3.77), shots (18) and shots on goal (12).
Lobo basketball adds versatile guard/forward

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Lobo men’s basketball team picked up another player on Saturday. Division II transfer Luke Haupt announced his commitment to New Mexico on Instagram. The 6-7 guard/forward comes to New Mexico from Point Loma Nazarene in San Diego. This past season, Haupt averaged 13.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. He also finished 6th in his conference with 92 total assists.
