IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - A Dickinson County man faces up to 15 years in prison after entering a plea agreement on Monday. Trentin McWilliams was arrested in 2023 as part of Operation Survivor Justice, a partnership between the Michigan Department of Attorney General, local county prosecutors, and the U.S. Marshals Service. They work together to locate, apprehend, and return to Michigan fugitive offenders with outstanding sexual assault warrants.

The camp is a result of a partnership between the Marquette Regional History Center and the Liberty Children’s Art Project. Monday was the first of five days for kids to learn about art and history at Marquette’s Regional History Center. The program looks to combine the two subjects in an engaging way.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Officials with the city of Marquette are reminding residents about campaign yard sign regulations. While it is election season, city officials say municipalities cannot regulate signs based on content- meaning all political signs are treated as yard signs and held to the same standard. Marquette Community Development Director Dennis Stachewicz says signs can be placed in private properties in all city zoning districts.

Athletes will compete in either the 50K or 50 Mile runs- both starting Saturday morning. MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Marquette Area Public School Board approved two tentative staff contracts on Monday night at a special meeting. One contract is with the Marquette Area Education Association, the union representing the district’s teachers. The other is an agreement with custodial, maintenance and food service workers. They have yet to be ratified, but Superintendent Zack Sedgwick says he expects that to happen soon.

Here’s what we know now: all are between the ages of 30 and 32 and U.S. based, with four from Georgia and one from Alabama. “In this case, these defendants used various online money exchange programs in addition to cryptocurrency, to mask the origin of the funds which they profited,” FBI Detroit Special Agent in Charge Shae Gibson said.
