COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — The Coeur d'Alene Ironman returns this weekend on June 22 and is expected to draw more than 2,000 athletes to the 70.3-mile course. Preparations are underway with the Ironman village set up, and early morning swimmers already taking to the water. The race begins with a 1.2-mile swim, followed by a 56-mile bike ride. Several roads in Coeur d’Alene, including Highway 95 South, will be closed, affecting both northbound and southbound traffic.

SPOKANE, Wash. — A new tradition is quickly growing at one Spokane Public School. Holmes Elementary students are busing to class with a twist. "Yeah, it really is fantastic to see how much they truly enjoy it and also how much confidence they're building with each week," said Chelsea Hardenbrook, the community engagement manager for River City Youth. Since last fall, Hardenbrook and other volunteers with RCY have led a bike bus for students.
