KREM 2 is the CBS affiliate that serves the Inland Northwest, based in Spokane. This station has a long-standing tradition of providing news to the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene area for almost 60 years. Viewers can catch news programs on both KREM 2 and KSKN 22, and the station is also available on cable in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta. KREM 2 first went on air on October 29, 1954, as an affiliate of ABC and DuMont Network. In the late 1950s, it briefly joined the NTA Film Network before officially becoming a CBS affiliate in August 1976. Initially owned by a radio company, KREM's radio stations were sold off in 1984.
