DEFIANCE — Napoleon struggled to get much going in Monday’s ACME baseball game at Tinora, settling for just three hits and committing a pair of errors en route to a 3-0 loss to the Rams. Jacob Kruse knocked a pair of singles to lead the Wildcats at the plate, while Jax Rocha also singled for the team’s only other hit. Tucker Shepard suffered the loss on the mound, allowing three runs — two earned — and six hits with four walks and one strikeout across five innings.

WAUSEON — The Wauseon Wahoos summer swim team combined to win nine relays, while 19 different swimmers won at least one individual event during Tuesday’s home meet with Ottawa-Glandorf at the Wauseon Community Pool. The girls team led the way for the Wahoos, as 10 swimmers won an event, including seven who won multiple events.

GREENVILLE, Ohio — The River Bandits scored multiple runs in five of seven innings Tuesday, breaking a 10-all tie with five runs in the seventh inning to defeat host Greenville 15-10 in legion baseball action. Brady Borton paced Napoleon Post #300 with a 5-for-5 effort at the plate, including a double, along with four RBI and three runs scored. Cody Shaw finished a triple short of the cycle with four RBI, while Landon Amstutz had two singles and a home run with two RBI.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Highlighted by a local carrier of the Flame of HOPE, the Henry County Special Olympics team recently competed at the 2025 Special Olympics Ohio Summer State Games from June 13-15 in Columbus on the campus of The Ohio State University. Jacob Heath, who was selected through a nomination process that highlighted his dedication as an athlete and active member of his community, was part of the third leg of the torch ceremony at the Games.

Patrick Henry’s boys team follows this up a night later with its own outright NWOAL title. PH defeats Delta 80-48 to improve to 18-0 overall and 6-0 in league play. The Patriots have one league game remaining, but every other league team has at least two losses.
