Northwest Signal
The history of local community newspapers in the area dates back to 1852 with the launch of The North West, a weekly Democratic publication. Its first edition was released on September 8, 1852. Following this, the Henry County Signal, a weekly Republican newspaper, made its debut on September 10, 1865. In 1959, a significant merger occurred when the Napoleon Northwest-News and Henry County Signal combined to operate as a single entity. This led to the first edition of the Northwest Signal being published twice a week starting on September 7, 1960. By late 1961, the Northwest Signal expanded its publication to five days a week. On February 1, 1966, James (Jim) K. Kuser acquired the assets of the Napoleon Publishing Co. and established Napoleon Inc., the publisher of the daily Northwest Signal. The newspaper transitioned from a tabloid to its current broadsheet format on September 7, 1966. For over 35 years, the Kuser family has been dedicated to publishing the Northwest Signal, making it Henry County's sole daily newspaper.

NAPOLEON — Lower-seeded Patrick Henry had early-game opportunities to take a lead on Lincolnview in Thursday’s Division VI district semifinal baseball game. But missed opportunities and defensive miscues were too much to overcome for the Patriots, as they fell 7-1 to the Lancers at Napoleon’s Booster Field. Batting first, PH opened the game with a leadoff single from Cal Schroeder before Mack Hieber was intentionally walked with one out. The next two batters made outs.

COLUMBUS - Twenty Pettisville FFA members recently attended the Ohio FFA Convention and Expo. On the first day of the convention, students had the opportunity to explore the career show and expo. During Session One, the chapter was recognized for donating $500 or more in charitable giving from April 1, 2024-March 30, 2025. During Session Two, Pettisville FFA was recognized as a Gold Medal Chapter, which is awarded to the top 10% chapters in the state.
