A Wicklow TD asked the Taoiseach to respond to the groundswell of opposition against the closure of an exit off the N11 to make way for the Wicklow N11/M11 Bus Priority Interim Scheme. Fine Gael’s Edward Timmins raised the plans in the Dail this week to permanently close the Herbert Road exit off the N11, at Bray, which has sparked widespread local demonstrations by thousands of residents over the last few weeks.

Tánaiste Simon Harris has announced that Greystones has been awarded €18,442 in funding under the 2025 Play and Recreation Capital Grant Scheme. An Taoiseach Micheál Martin and the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne, have officially opened the new €139 million Arklow Wastewater Treatment Plant which has ended raw sewage discharge into the Avoca River and supports housing and commercial development opportunities. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had identified Arklow as an area where untreated wastewater was released into the river, a practice that is no longer acceptable.

Status Yellow rain warnings has been issued for Wicklow, with spells of heavy rain forecast. Met Éireann has issued a further Status Yellow warning for Galway and Mayo between 6am tomorrow morning until 9pm on Friday night, while a third rain warning will come into effect for counties Carlow, Dublin, Louth, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford between 6am on Friday until 6am on Saturday. Localised flooding is possible in the impacted counties.

William Moorehouse was found dead in a child's playground in January.The body of William Moorehouse was found in Ballywaltrim playground in Bray on January 19th. A potentially explosive device, used in military operations, has been recovered in Carlow. The army bomb disposal team was called to a home in Hacketstown at 10 o'clock last night resulting in the area being cordoned off and homes evacuated.The device was not viable and was safely removed. It followed an appeal around the ordnance, which is used to light up an area during night-time operations, after it went missing after being spotted on a walking trail at Lugnaquilla
