Every Sunday afternoon during the academic year, a group of about 20 students from Columbia College, Barnard, and the School of General Studies meets on the fourth floor of Riverside Church. We gossip, pitch and recruit op-eds, and now, after a multi-year hiatus, operate as Spectator’s editorial board. Ever since I joined Spectator, the section’s mission has been deceptively simple: reflect and direct campus and community discourse.

TJ Gill is a first year at Columbia Law School and a graduate in the Columbia College Class of 2022. During his undergraduate studies, he majored in English and psychology, was a director of Nightline, and also served as an editor in Spec Opinion. He is interested in religion and spirituality, the causes and outcomes of political polarization, and the best burger spots in the city.
