"Risky play" seemed like a strange concept to Melbourne dad Peter Curry until he read a parenting book and realised it was as familiar as his own 1980s "free range" childhood. Now it's an integral part of life for his two children, Harriet and Patrick. "Risky play for us looks like running down a hill as fast as you can, walking along a sea wall looking down at the rocks below, or climbing a tree to the top," Mr Curry said.
