Tragic news about Dana Dimel passing. I got to spend some time with him in July at Nate Poss's Christmas party, was great seeing him doing so well. He was a kind man and a fun one to be around.

UTEP 28, NMSU 24, 5:45 3rd. A 30-yard bomb to Odom completes a 5-play, 66-yard drive. Miners have now scored three straight touchdowns to charge into the lead. Converted a third-and-7 on the play before the TD with a 13-yard pass to Thomas.

NMSU 24, UTEP 21, 7:41 3rd. Xavier Smith breaks up a touchdown, then breaks up a 4th-down pass two plays apart and Miners hold on downs.

NMSU 24, UTEP 21, 10:41 3rd. A wild swing gets Miners back in it. On third-and-10, a 69-yard bomb to Kam Thomas to the 3-yard line. Jackson bangs it in on the next play. Miners looked like they were about to be down 31-14, now it's a three-point game.

NMSU 24, UTEP 14, 11:36 3rd. Aggies ease downfield, but stall on an incomplete bomb on 3rd and 1, then miss a 45-yard field goal.

NMSU 24, UTEP 14, half. Aggies miss a 58-yard FG try short to end a crazy first half. NMSU outgained UTEP 267-142, had 18:27 time of possession. UTEP 0-2 on 4th down. A defensive touchdown is why the Miners are so close

Chapman intercepts a pass, then leveled at the end of the return and fumbles. NMSU QB Awhad recovered for what eventually is like a loss of 5 yards with a new set of downs
