El Paso Times
In 1881, Marcellus Washington Carrico launched the inaugural edition of the El Paso Times, which emerged in a small frontier town characterized by adobe structures and a population of just 800 people. Initially, it was a four-page publication with seven columns, and the annual subscription cost was $3. Remarkably, within a year, it transitioned into the town's first daily newspaper. In 1991, the Times introduced a weekly section called Vecinos, which was published entirely in Spanish. Then, in July 1997, the newspaper inaugurated a new production and printing facility.
