    Ford Motor Company has filed a patent for an active heat sharing system that may be used in future Ford EVs, Ford Authority has learned. The patent was filed on December 29th, 2023, published on June 5th, 2025, and assigned serial number 0178400. In recent months, Ford has published patents for ideas including an external heating feature for EVs, as well as a heated window system for EVs, giving us different ideas of how versatile electric vehicles might one day be in that regard.

    Over the years, we’ve seen our fair share of six-door pickup conversions, which are precisely what they sound like – elongated versions of existing trucks like the Ford Super Duty, which feature six doors instead of four, as well as what is typically an additional row of seating inside.
