The match will serve as the opening game of the season for both squads and the first game in the history of the Vancouver FC franchise, which was founded as the Canadian Premier League’s eighth club last fall.

The Victoria Grizzlies have officially been eliminated from BCHL playoff contention following a four game sweep at the hands of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, who sealed the series with a 6-4 win on Wednesday night. The Grizz were hoping to turn around a 2-0 deficit as they returned home for games three and four this week, however they were ultimately unable to hold down the potent Bulldogs offence, who combined for 12 total goals over the final two contests to seal the four game sweep.

The Centre’s services remain in high demand, providing support for over 300 men suffering from physical and emotional trauma on the South Island, with an additional 60+ currently on the waiting list, according to the organization.
