Last August, beloved jam band Widespread Panic understandably had to let down their fans by cancelling a run of shows, most likely due to health issues faced by lead guitarist Jimmy Herring. Milwaukee got caught up in those nixed shows but will give it another go later this year, when Widespread Panic visits the Riverside Theater for three nights, Oct. 24-26.

Almost exactly a year ago, the Milwaukee County Parks Department issued a statement that the July 3 fireworks over Veterans Park would not take place due to a “lack of sponsorship.”That void has been filled by several local organizations and individuals, led by presenting sponsor Michael F. Hupy, although the July 3 event will look quite different upon its return, with drones replacing fireworks.

After breathing life back into the Ten Buck Show earlier this year, the Pabst Theater Group will keep the economically minded concert series going July 11 with a rock-solid local lineup featuring Sleepy Gaucho, Jacob Slade and The Racing Pulses. All three local acts should sound awfully familiar to 88Nine listeners. Two of them have been the subject of Milwaukee Music Premieres, while Jacob Slade and Sleepy Gaucho both took the stage in our performance space last year.
