WHO HE IS William Dunn is the founder of Take a Kid Fishing, Inc., a nonprofit organization in Lakeland, Florida, that mentors underprivileged and fatherless kids through the sport of fishing. A dozen years ago, William noticed his six-year-old neighbor, Camran, seemed angry. He’d storm out of the house, shouting at his mom. One day, William saw the boy outside and started a conversation. One says he was a temple priest in Rome who was ordered beaten, stoned and beheaded by the emperor Claudius II for helping Christian couples to wed at a time when Roman law forbade young people from marrying. Lift Every Voice and Sing-the Black National Anthem was originally written to honor Abraham LincolnThe news that Sheryl Lee Ralph will sing what has been dubbed as the Black National Anthem at the Super Bowl is making headlines all over the Internet. The NFL is said to have made this decision as a way to support social justice. While this song is considered to be related to African Americans and Civil Rights the author James Weldon Johnson did not write Lift Every Voice and Sing for that purpose.
