The Victoria Grizzlies continue to rebuild their forward group after losing several players to graduation, and new general manager and head coach Geoff Grimwood dipped into the United States to find the latest additions. Nikita Meshcheryakov, from Moscow, comes to the Grizzlies by way of New Jersey Jr. Titans of the North American Hockey League. The NCAA rule change last fall allowing Canadian Hockey League major-junior players to be eligible for the NCAA has sent shockwaves across junior hockey in this country, and on Friday a big one hit Victoria. Several reports, including from TSN and the Grand Forks Herald, indicate Victoria Royals stars Cole Reschny and Keaton Verhoeff have committed to the University of North Dakota for next fall. The Royals had yet to make a comment at press time.
