FIRST ALERT - Heavy rain possible

QUINCY (WGEM) - We have a First Alert for Tuesday, mainly late in the day and into the overnight hours. The primary area of concern lies west of the Mississippi River. We are expecting a couple of rounds of heavy rainfall that could result in some flooding. Looking at this map, you can see there could be some pockets that receive in excess of 2 1/2 inches. The heavy rain chances come to an end by Wednesday morning.
Weekend warmth

QUINCY (WGEM) - We are set up for our first really nice summer-like weekend. Temperatures on both Saturday and Sunday will be in the mid-80s. We should have a mostly sunny sky, but there will be some haze at times due to the Canadian wildfires. Temperatures warm on Monday and Tuesday to near 90°. Before a cold front comes through and knocks the temps down, but cranks up the potential for some showers and some thunderstorms Tuesday night through Wednesday.

QUINCY (WGEM) - I’ve been looking forward to some nice sunny skies. While there won’t be much cloud cover on Friday, we will have hazy, smoky skies thanks to Canadian wildfires. The wind flow has the smoke from those forest fires coming right down the Mississippi River Valley. Expect an obscured sunshine for much of the afternoon on Friday. If everything goes as planned, by the time we get into Saturday afternoon, most of that smoke and Haze will have cleared the region.
Isolated Showers then Summer Heat

QUINCY (WGEM) - Scattered showers are possible on Thursday morning through Thursday evening. We may even hear a rumble of thunder. Isolated showers and a rumble of Thursday Thunder(Brian Inman) Once the system exits, it should set us up for a pretty good warming trend with Friday’s temperature running right on track for what is average, in the mid to upper 70s.
Cooler temps for now

QUINCY (WGEM) - We have a couple more cool days before we start to see things warming up. Thursday, there is a limited potential for a scattered shower, but it doesn’t look like it will amount to much. Cooler temps for now(Brian Inman)However, the cloud cover will keep our temperatures down to the low 70s. There will be rain this weekend - but not all weekend

QUINCY (WGEM) - The forecast area will miss out on excessive rainfall. Excessive rainfall is expected in southwestern Missouri throughout much of the weekend. We will have periods of wet weather on Sunday. It looks like the bulk of that will be in the morning. It will not be a total washout on Sunday, but there will be some hours when we will see rain. Most likely less than a half inch.

QUINCY (WGEM) - We do have rain on the way for the Tri-State area, but it looks as if that rain will hold off until Saturday night. We’ll keep things mostly cloudy for Friday and Saturday. There will be some periods of sunshine. Rain will be scattered on Sunday, and it looks like it won’t get here until the afternoon. Rain on Memorial Day looks like a 50-50 shot. Our temperatures that have been running below average will also continue to run cooler than what is normal, at least through the weekend.

QUINCY (WGEM) - We have cooler-than-normal temperatures for the region. normally, daytime highs the week of Memorial Day are up in the mid-70s. We will only see temperatures in the mid-60s for daytime highs for the next 7 days. We’re also tracking the potential for rain that runs in for the holiday weekend. The question is just when the rain will start. Right now, forecast models seem to be holding off the rainfall for much of the day on Saturday.

QUINCY (WGEM) - Temperatures will be cooler for the next seven days. When I say cooler, I mean cooler than what is average; your average daytime high this time of year sits in the mid-70s, and your overnight lows in the mid-50s. We will not be near average on your daytime highs as a matter fact, we will struggle even just to get up to 70° by the time we get into Monday, Memorial Day. Overnight low temperatures will range down into the mid-40s.
After the storms cooler temps are expected

QUINCY (WGEM) - This storm system should bring us some pretty impressive rainfall totals by the time it wraps up and leaves the area by Tuesday, we should be over an inch for much of the. Some pockets of over 2 inches are possible. This is welcome news for drought-stricken areas like northern Adams County, southern Hancock County, and McDonough County. Cooler temperatures will fall in behind the cold front or daytime high this time of year said it about 74°.
