    According to the Ohio Bar, in 82 of Ohio’s 88 counties, there are not enough lawyers to serve local communities. This is based upon an ideal ratio of one lawyer for every 700 residents. Many of these attorneys are nearing retirement, with the median age of private practice lawyers in Ohio at 54.5 years — and in some rural areas, the median age is 60 to 70 years. Without enough lawyers, people struggle to navigate the legal system.

    A fire renewal levy for St. Joseph Township will appear on the May ballot after an error was made in November that excluded some voters from deciding the issue. The Williams County Board of Elections inadvertently left the issue off of ballots for voters in the village of Edgerton. Once the error was found, the electors of St. Joseph Township contested the results and petitioned then-Williams County Common Pleas Court Judge J.T. Stelzer to order the issue be voted on again.

    U.S. Sen. Jon Husted, R-Montpelier, was in Bryan Wednesday and met with leaders of The Ohio Art Co. to discuss trade tariffs and tour the facility. Ohio Art President Martin Killgallon said the company had reached out to several federal legislators when the Trump Administration first announced its tariffs, and Husted was one of the few who returned those calls. "We want to talk to him about how to bring more manufacturing back here," Killgallon said during the tour.
