MONTPELIER— The Montpelier Exempted Village Schools Board of Education heard updates and took care of various staff and other business issues. Superintendent Travis Lichty said the school had some recent wind damage that was being fixed. "It should be finished up a couple of weeks," he said. "It's an insurance claim, so it's not going to cost us anything."During the legislative report, Patti Rockey, board member, said House Bill 155 had its first hearing on May 6.

MONTPELIER — A five-year forecast that brings cash on hand down to $300,000 is based on what Montpelier Exempted Village Schools' Treasurer Carla Rice hopes is the worst possible outcome. The forecast reflects the current House of Representatives version of the biennial Ohio budget, which has yet to be passed and signed into law. The law is currently in the Senate. Once it's out of the Senate, Rice said, it will go to committee to reconcile the differences before going to Gov.

American Legion Post 680 from Ney, Post 137 from Farmer and the American Legion Auxiliary, have selected five Fairview High School students to attend the 2025 American Legion Buckeye Boys State and Buckeye Girls State programs. Boys State and Girls State are each one-week, intensive education programs, focusing on the operation of a hypothetical state’s government. Each participant will play a part in the operation of this state's government, at the local, county and state levels.
