    Author Ken Liu was born in China in 1976. His family emigrated to the U.S. when Liu was 11. He has published multiple collections of short stories and an epic series of novels. Several of his works have been made into films  including “Good Hunting,” which was part of the Netflix animated anthology series “Love, Death and Robots.”Liu is based in the Boston suburbs, but he’s coming to Central Illinois this week.

    As the DNC heads into its second day in Chicago, thousands of people continued to protest U.S. support for Israel as it wages war against the militant group, Hamas. Hamas executed an attack on October 7 that killed some 1,200 Israelis and roughly 200 Israeli hostages were taken as well. However, Israel’s retaliatory military offensive in Gaza has left more than 40,000 Palestinians dead including many women and children.
