The Miami Dolphins need leadership on the field, leadership they can rely upon. Jaylen Waddle is one of those players who needs to become just that. OTAs don't mean much in the overall plan for an NFL regular season, but they do set a tone of expectation for players and coaches. While they won't answer a bunch of questions leading into training camp, they can provide glimpses of what could be expected.

It's not going well. The Miami Dolphins' OTAs are underway, and it has already exposed a major problem without Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey is not among the Dolphins players participating. He continues to wait for his Miami exit via trade, a move that could happen by the end of next week. Without him, the Dolphins' depleted cornerback room is under serious pressure. An update on how it's going? "Jaylen Waddle burned Dolphins DBs multiple times at today's OTA," writes David Furones of the Sun Sentinel.

Can he make this year's roster? The Miami Dolphins saw enough in undrafted tight end Julian Hill that they signed him after the 2023 NFL Draft completed. So far, there have been flashes of his potential, but there is also enough to see that he may not end up with a spot on Miami's final 2025 roster. Jonnu Smith clearly showcased his ability to handle the Dolphins' offense.

Would make a lot of fans happyThe Miami Dolphins made a move this offseason that had fans wanting Chris Grier's job more than normal. Mini-camp and OTA season are upon us, serving as a reminder that training camp is still a long way away, and there will be a drought when it is over. Not everyone is going to make the roster, but one player may give fans a little sigh of relief.
