    A 19-year-old pedestrian died when he was hit by a car in Colton on Friday morning, May 2, the Colton Police Department said. The man’s name had not been publicly announced as of Friday afternoon. The collision happened around 6:48 a.m. in the 17000 block of Washington Street, said Sgt. Mike Sandoval, a Police Department spokesman. Investigators were trying to determine the circumstances of the crash and whether any crime had been committed, Sandoval said.

    Two people were burned Friday morning, May 2, when a suspected honey oil lab exploded in a garage at a house in Moreno Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said. Both were hospitalized with moderate to major injuries, said Karina Espinoza, a Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman. One was detained for questioning, said Lt. Dierdre Vickers, a sheriff’s spokeswoman. “Deputies are investigating a possible butane honey oil lab explosion,” Vickers said.

    Two people suffered critical burns Friday morning, May 2, when a house exploded in Moreno Valley, authorities said. The explosion and a fire were reported at 10:27 a.m. in the 13600 block of Pattilyn Drive, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said. Two people were hospitalized in critical condition, said Lt. Deirdre Vickers, a Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman. Vickers did not describe the injuries or address the cause of the explosion. The flames were knocked down in about 20 minutes.
