A woman died after her car was hit from behind by a pickup truck in what would become a four-vehicle pileup on Interstate 10 near Chiriaco Summit on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol. A press release from the agency stated that the crash happened on the westbound side of the interstate west of Cottonwood Springs Road around 11:55 a.m. A man was unable to slow his Dodge Ram as he approached slowing traffic and struck the rear of the Volkswagen sedan the woman was driving.

One person died in Cathedral City early Sunday following a collision with a vehicle driven by a juvenile who was then arrested for DUI, according to Cathedral City Police.
