A woman was hurt Saturday while swimming in Fort Lauderdale Beach when she was possibly bitten by a barracuda, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue. Fire rescue was called to 736 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard before 11 a.m.When asked about her injury, authorities said it was "not a shark bite," but "much smaller. Possibly a barracuda."The woman was treated for the minor injury. NBC6 is working to learn more about her condition.

Some adults jumped into action, including a Broward County judge who was there to watch her daughter compete, as onlookers fled. A veteran South Florida firefighter was arrested and charged for allegedly uploading pornographic images of children to the internet, arrest reports state. According to authorities, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip about a user who had uploaded multiple files contained child sex abuse material on Sept. 22, 2023. The images were of girls younger than 10, 8 and 3 years old, the report states.

An ex-employee of the Miami Beach establishment known as the Versace Mansion allegedly went into the kitchen with a large knife and threatened to slit his former boss' throat on Saturday, according to authorities. It happened at around 6 p.m. in the rear part of the property, now called The Villa Casa Casuarina, located at 1116 Ocean Drive. Israel Vasquez Contreras, 33, allegedly entered the kitchen area through a back door and was "making threats to kitchen staff," an arrest report states.
