Volkswagen’s ID Buzz to start from under $80,000 and slated to arrive in early 2025. The commercial vehicle arm of German carmaker Volkswagen has revealed pricing for its first all-electric vehicle in Australia – the ID. Buzz. The ID. Buzz will be available in Australia in four variants, starting with a back-to-basics rear-wheel-drive Cargo that is targeted at those wanting flexibility of interior space – or even perhaps looking to kit it out like the Kombi camper days of old.

EVs are close to reaching price parity with internal combustion engine cars, and some are already on par with hybrids. Affordability is still a top concern when it comes to buying an electric vehicle (EV), a recent survey of NRMA members showed. Out of 1376 members surveyed, 23 per cent of 376 members who are not sure about going electric said they’d feel more comfortable doing so if EVs were more affordable.
