LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — The Lafayette City Council discussed a big issue on many residents’ minds Tuesday night: drainage. This comes on the heels of recent flash flooding in the city. “We’re had flooding for years. I’ve been complaining. I’ve got open tickets. We need help with drainage tremendously.”The LCG public works and drainage directors both addressed the Lafayette city council.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — The Lafayette Parish School Board made more cuts at Thursday evening’s school board meeting, as they continue to face a budget crisis. LPSS approved a reduction in force but also made the biggest cut ever to its own central office. Superintendent Francis Touchet says workforce cuts will only happen if necessary for the budget. “By all means, this has nothing to do with teachers,” Touchet said.

I’m so heartbroken for my state, the people of New Orleans, and especially the families and friends of the people killed and seriously injured in a horrendous terror attack. Speechless tonight.
