These are the lanes closest to the Promenade (see photo). This equipment allows enforcement of the weight limit imposed to prevent further damage to the cantilevered structure that carries the BQE below Brooklyn Heights.

Scales for BHB), at Montague and Hicks streets, has been bought by Somera Road Inc., described as an “opportunistic real estate and development firm.” Not surprisingly, Somera Road doesn’t intend to make the Bossert a hotel again; something it hasn’t actulally been for some years.
