New Bloomfield — Wednesday was a good day for baseball teams from the Columbia Public Schools system. Rock Bridge took down Jefferson City, 6-3, to split the two-game series with the Jays. Battle shut out Capital City for the second night in a row after the 1-0 win. Senior Brayden Groseclose pitched a complete game shutout for the Spartans. Hickman defeated Camdenton, 9-3, thanks to five runs scored in the opening frame. The win split the series with the Lakers.

New Bloomfield — Both Helias and Capital City girls soccer teams got the job done on Wednesday. Helias took down Rolla on the home turf, 3-0. Junior Jenna Roark scored two goals in the win for the Lady Crusaders. In Ashland, Capital City secured the road win, 4-0, against Southern Boone. New Bloomfield — It was a busy night on the diamond Tuesday night. Starting up in Columbia, Jefferson City earned the 9-3 road win over Rock Bridge. The Jays scored five runs in the opening frame. Down in Jefferson City, Battle shut out Capital City, 3-0. Across town, Smith-Cotton circled the bases 15 times against Helias as the Tigers defeated the Crusaders, 15-6.
