    Taiwanese American author Charles Yu’s National Book Award-winning novel, “Interior Chinatown,” lept off the page, literally—he adapted it for television. The pilot, episode one of 10, show-run by Yu himself and with direction by Taika Waititi, closed out the Boston Asian American Film Festival program with a screening at Emerson’s Paramount Theater on Oct. 26. As of yesterday, the full series is available for streaming on Hulu.

    Act two of the three-part Yallapalooza 2024 concert series kicked off in Boston at the Emerson Colonial Theater on Thursday. The tour, presented by Hillel, the world’s largest college organization for Jewish life, featured sets by DJ Sasi and Yonatan Cohen, who both performed at last year’s Nova Music Festival during the Oct. 7 Hamas-led attack on Israel, followed by Grammy-nominated reggae act, Matisyahu, and 2023 Eurovision finalist Noa Kirel.

    Boston Caribbean Fashion Week finalized its eleventh year of fashion week on Oct. 19 with an intimate showcase that vibed through the neighboring halls of the Hampton Inn Hotel in Seaport. Caribbean-inspired glam, Flamenco gowns, and streetwear were sent down a runway in between a crowd of fashionistas backdropped by Soca music, applause, and festive island spirit.
