An infant has died, and three others, including a man found with self-inflicted injuries, are in hospital following a house fire in Scarborough Saturday morning. Fire crews were called to the home on Bushmill Square, in the area of Brimley Road and Finch Avenue East, at around 11:15 a.m.Crews arrived and rescued four people from the home, an eight-month-old baby, a four-year-old, a seven-year-old and a 38-year-old man, who police said had self-inflicted wounds.

A construction company has been fined $130,000 after a worker died from falling concrete during a project in Vaughan more than a year ago. The Ontario Ministry of Labour announced the fine against Fourwinds Construction on Friday, saying the Concord-based company “failed to ensure a headwall was stored in a way that did not endanger a worker.”The incident occurred on Rutherford Road between Peter Rupert Avenue and Bathurst Street on Aug.

Toronto police are looking for four suspects in connection with two break-ins in Scarborough that were captured on security cameras. The first incident happened on the evening of Dec. 11 in the area of Huntingwood Drive and Pharmacy Avenue. Four suspects arrived at a residence in a white SUV. In a video shared Friday, three suspects are seen walking up to the side of the home before one of them climbs up a door, letting the two others inside.

The province’s police watchdog has charged two Durham police officers in connection with wrong-way collision on Highway 401 last year that killed a baby and his grandparents. “The Director of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), Joseph Martino, has reasonable grounds to believe two Durham Regional Police Service officers committed criminal offences in relation to a fatal multi-vehicle collision that occurred on April 29, 2024,” the SIU said in a news release on Friday. Durham police are searching for two suspects who allegedly threw incendiary devices at a home in Oshawa, prompting a brief evacuation Wednesday night. Police said they received a call at 8:40 p.m. about two suspicious packages found at a residence near Valley Drive and Phillip Murray Avenue. Investigators have determined that two suspects arrived in a dark-coloured pickup truck and allegedly used the vehicle to break the front door of the home.
