Thailand’s Pavarisa Yoktuan became the only player in the field this week at the Buick LPGA Shanghai to record three consecutive rounds in the 60s when she carded a 3-under 69 on Moving Day at Qizhong Garden Golf Club. The 29-year-old opened her week in the People’s Republic of China with a pair of 68s to sit at 8-under and two back of the lead heading into the third round. She began her day with three consecutive pars before grabbing birdies on holes 4 and 6 to get to 10-under overall.

Less than a month ago, Angel Yin and Maja Stark fought their hearts out for the United States and Europe, respectively, in their effort to secure the prestigious Solheim Cup at Finca Cortesin for their home country. American Angel Yin took full advantage of Moving Day at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, recording eight birdies and one bogey to post a 7-under 65 and hold a share of the 54-hole lead at Qizhong Garden Golf Club. After opening with rounds of 70 and 69 on Thursday and Friday, respectively, the 25-year-old stumbled out of the gate, bogeying her first hole of the day to drop back to 4-under.

People’s Republic of China native Yu Liu backed up her first-round 4-under 68 with a 5-under 67 on day two of the Buick LPGA Shanghai, carding one bogey and six birdies to sit in a tie for second alongside defending champion Danielle Kang heading into the weekend. She got off to a quick start at Qizhong Garden Golf Club, grabbing a birdie on the par-4 3rd hole to move to 5-under overall, but cooled slightly on the front nine, making four pars and a bogey on No. 8 to drop back to 4-under.

Angela Aulenti didn’t realize it at the time, but the top influence for her future career was the same person who drove her to the golf course every day as a child. Her mother, Mickey Aulenti, ran the food concession at Longshore Golf Course in Westport, Conn., so the precocious youngster tagged along to the municipal course, became interested in the game and spent many hours observing every lesson taught by the club’s golf professionals.

After 36 holes at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, Maja Stark converted her 18-hole lead into another on Friday in her debut appearance at Qizhong Garden Golf Club, carding a second-round 68 to take a one-stroke lead at -10 heading into the weekend. The Swede, who is looking for her first victory since becoming a Rolex First-Time Winner at the 2022 ISPS Handa World Invitational, ended Friday one-shot off Shanghai’s 36-hole record (134).
